We are excited to announce that we are currently looking for a Retail Manager to join the team here at Darkroom. The finer details of the kind of person we are searching for, the role and how to apply are outlined below.. 

JOB SUMMARY

To oversee, the running and operation of the retail shop based on Lamb's Conduit Street, London WC1. To assist customers in selecting items, provide excellent customer service at all times and to build good customer relations. It is also vital that the candidate be supportive in all other areas of the business which may include visual merchandising, e-commerce and website maintenance, events organisation, PR, marketing, social media and general administration.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To maintain and increase sales throughout the year and achieve set financial targets.
  • To liaise and update the Directors, regarding all financial budgets and weekly reports relating to the shop.
  • To manage any other shop staff, if necessary.
  • To assist in the setting up of sales targets and shop objectives.
  • To maintain an excellent level of customer service at all times within the shop.
  • To ensure that the shop has correct levels of stock and that the shop floor is always replenished as required.
  • To assist the Directors in ensuring that the shop is always merchandised to a high standard.
  • To ensure that weekly and seasonal deliveries are dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • To ensure and maintain a high level of product knowledge at all times.
  • To produce regular sales lists for online manager so that online stock levels are kept updated.

As well as the specific responsibilities listed above it is also important to mention that we are a new and small company and wish for everyone to be involved in all departments of the company. If there are other aspects that you would like to include within your role such as marketing, PR, events, product development, social Media, and e-commerce then we would be very happy to discuss this at the interview. 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in retail within a fashion, interiors or like-minded store. A keen interest in fashion, interiors or product design. A proven track record in delivering excellent customer service. Excellent communications skills. Keen eye for attention to detail. Ability to deal with people at all levels. Excellent grasp of all retail standards and procedures, Computer literate in shop management systems. Ability to plan ahead and use ones initiative at all times. Highly organised. Excellent understanding of stock management. Competent office administration skills. It is also important for the candidate to be calm, positive, highly self motivated, enthusiastic, helpful, approachable, honest, trustworthy and reliable.

WAGE: Dependent on experience.

HOURS: 3-4 days a week. Must be flexible and willing to work Saturdays and Sundays.
