Part study in drape and composition, part protective talisman, Boet accessories channel the collective unconscious through the form of designer Emily Bixler. Bringing a sense of installation-art to her jewellery design, Emily’s collections are constructed using vintage brass chains and fabrics made from crocheted and knitted silks, wools and cottons. After discovering a love of welding (and putting down her paintbrush), Emily expanded her knowledge of craft methods by working in the knitwear industry, as a milliner’s assistant and a seamstress before launching her jewellery line in Portland, Oregon. With shapes inspired by a childhood of sailing and hot-air ballooning, Emily’s designs summon up the elements with a great, purposeful flourish.
