After graduating from Cooper Union, where she focused primarily on installation art, Mimi Jung received a scholarship to study communication design in Basel, Switzerland. From there she returned to New York to work for Art+Commerce, where she designed books and exhibitions, before eventually taking some time off to explore personal projects, incorporating various materials that she found inspiring. Mimi's first jewellery collection received an overwhelming response, noted for presenting natural materials in innovative ways. Her collections focus’ on contrasts such as light and dark, and reflection and deflection; they seek to make familiar materials appear new by emphasising selected features.
